Lenten & Holy Week Schedule
Please join us during the most holiest of times. Ash Wednesday February 13, 2013 Gorzkie Zale - (Polish Lamentation Service) Every Sunday, 3:00 PM Solemn Vesper Service Every Sunday, 6:00 PM (No 3:00 PM Vespers on Palm Sunday, March 24) Stations of the Cross / Droga Krzyzowa Friday, in Polish, 5:30 PM Friday, in English, 7:00 PM LENTEN FAST AND ABSTINENCE Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat and also days of fast (i.e., one moderate major meal). The law regarding abstinence applies to all Catholics over the age of 14. The law regarding fasting applies to all Catholics over the age of 18 until their 59th birthday. All remaining Fridays in Lent are days of abstinence from meat. Of course, all-you-can-eat fish fries or dining on lobster tails really have no place during this season. Please take this small act of mortification seriously as we enter the HOLY season of Lent. A little moderation never killed anyone. High School Chorus and Orchestra at 3:00 PM Gorzkie Zale at 6:00 PM March 27, Wednesday Bilingual (Polish / English) Confessions, 7:00 PM March 28, Holy Thursday Morning Prayer, 8:30 AM Liturgy of Our Lord's Last Supper at 7:00 PM, followed by Procession to the Repository with Adoration until Midnight March 29, Good Friday Morning Prayer, 8:30 AM Stations of the Cross, Noon Liturgy of the Lord's Passion, 2:00 PM Liturgy of the Lord's Passion in Polish, 6:00 PM Outdoor candelight Stations of the Cross in Polish, 7:00 PM March 30, Holy Saturday Morning Prayer, 8:30 AM Blessing of Food Baskets at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, Noon, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM Easter Vigil Mass, 8:30 PM March 31, Easter Sunday Resurrection Mass with Procession at 6:30 AM in Polish Mass in English, 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM Mass in Polish, 10:00 AM |
