2008 Four Eagle Award Winners
At the 2008 event, the award was accepted by our present Councilman Tony Brancatelli and former Councilman Ed Rybka Jr., a long-time parishioner.

The 2008 Four Eagle Event was held on Friday, May 10th, at the Parish Social Center. It was our most successful Four Eagle event ever, and was celebrated by almost two hundred guests.

The event earned more than $10,000 for the parish! All proceeds go to support the continued advancement of the spiritual, educational, and cultural mission of the shrine parish.

Many thanks to all who helped make this so successful, especially Chairperson Sharon Kozak and all the members of the Sklodowski Family who provided the catering and lots of hard work.

Legend of the Four Eagles
St. Stanislaus is the patron saint of Poland. Born in Szczepanow near Krakow on July 26, 1030, he was ordained a priest after being educated in Poland and Paris. He became bishop of Krakow in 1072.

St. Stanislaus Window, east side of church Stanislaus quickly became involved in the political situation of Poland. He aimed his attacks at the evils of the king, especially the unjust wars and immoral acts of King Boleslaus II, resulting in his excommunication of the king.

The king, enraged, ordered his soldiers to kill the bishop. When they refused, the king killed him with his own hands.

According to legend, the body of Stanislaus was dismembered after he was matyred, and four eagles came from different areas of Poland to protect his body.

Relic of St. Stanislaus

Relic of St. Stanislaus
In Poland, May 8 is the traditional feast of Saint Stanislaus. A relic received in 1969 from then-Bishop of Krakow, Karol Wojtyla -- now his Holiness Pope John Paul II -- was enshrined at Saint Stanislaus Church in 2003. The year 2003 also marked the 750th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Stanislaus. In 2004, Saint Stanislaus Church was designated as the Shrine Church of Saint Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr.
